A secluded property has been listed for sale in Wirral, that’s hidden in private woodland.
The five bedroom detached house sits on around 1.68 acres of land, off Caldy Road, within the Caldy Conservation Area. Called Lychwood House, the property was built in the 1980s but has never been sold on the open market before.
Built on the site of the former tennis court of a neighbouring property that once sat on nearby Anthony’s Close, the architecturally designed home features many bespoke fittings including York stone flags, pine beams and charming detailing.

A new build house that was listed for sale on the road for £1,450,000 is under offer and in 2021 a home listed for £1,525,000 sold. There’s no sale history information found on Rightmove on Lychwood House as it has never been on the open market before.
Images of the property show it’s accessed from a private driveway and path, adding to its seclusion. The ground floor is simply made up of two sections, split down the middle by a grand hallway.
To one side there’s a kitchen/diner, with a separate pantry room and to the other is a drawing room with a feature log burning stove in the centre and office at the other side. The kitchen is full of character, with an exposed brick chimney breast partitioning the kitchen from the dining area.
On the first floor are all five of the bedrooms, and a large landing space with a library area. Across the two floors are two three-piece bathrooms and two toilets.
One of the main draws of Lychwood House are the 1.68 acres of land it is sat on. The plot is made up of a lawned area with a large area of woodland, mature trees, shrubs and plants. There’s also a detached garage on the plot and plenty of parking spaces available.
The Savills listing reads: “Lychwood House was built in the 1980s on the site of the former tennis court which was at the time within the grounds of the neighbouring Anthony’s Close.
“The house has never been on the open market before and the idyllic property has been architecturally designed and constructed by the owners using rare and valuable reclaimed building materials and contains a number of charming features such as bespoke hardwood doors and windows, York stone flags internally and externally along with exposed pine beams and further features.
“The property is approached via a private driveway which leads to a parking area in front of the garage and a path which leads up to the house and beautiful Lychgate entrance/porch area.”
