House Republicans Unlikely To Pass Latest Proposal

House Republicans, led by GOP Whip Steve Scalise, have indicated that they are unlikely to bring the latest proposal through the House Rules Committee for a vote. Scalise mentioned that the proposal would not pass even with a simple majority.

Scalise stated, 'We are going to go back to the table and keep negotiating like we did last night.' When asked if Republicans would attempt to bring the proposal through rules, he responded, 'Not on this bill. Not right now.'
