The House Oversight Committee Chair, James Comer, has issued a subpoena to Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to appear at a hearing on July 22 regarding the failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Comer, a Kentucky Republican, expressed concern in the subpoena letter that Cheatle's attendance at the hearing was now in question due to intervention by Department of Homeland Security officials.
