House of the Dragon Season 4: Final Season release date, plot, and everything we know

Rhaenyra Targaryen Helaena Targaryen Daemon Targaryen Daenerys Targaryen Ryan Condal Season 4 HBO Targaryens Emma DArcy

House of the Dragon's third season has just ended and the next one, the Season 4, will bring HBO's Targaryen saga to an end. Filming for the final chapter, which could be its bloodiest yet, is expected to begin in early 2027 and the final episodes likely arriving in 2028, the series is heading toward the end of the Dance of the Dragons — a stage where dragons, not armies, will determine who survives.

HBO has confirmed that House of the Dragon will end with its fourth season. The decision follows the natural conclusion of the Targaryen history depicted in George R.R. Martin's source material.
