House fire in Farrer closes road

Lambrigg Street in Farrer has reopened to traffic after a house fire meant the street had to be closed this morning.

ACT Ambulance, ACT Fire and Rescue and ACT Policing went to the fire after being called to the home about 5am.

Lambrigg Street was closed in both directions and the ESA were asking people to avoid the area.

A man and his two dogs escaped the house fire. The SES said one person was treated at the scene but the injuries weren't serious enough for hospital.

It is unknown how the fire began.
