A house has exploded and erupted into flames in a massive blast captured on CCTV leaving one dead.
Emergency services rushed to the residence in San Francisco's Sunset District in California, US, at around 9.20am local time (5.20pm UK time) and extinguished the fire on February 9.
Investigators sifted through the rubble before discovering evidence of a possible illegal narcotics manufacturing lab.
Footage from surveillance cameras at the location shows the infrastructure of the building scrambling and bursting into flames and a massive plume of smoke spreading in the air after the explosion.
The body of a disabled woman, who hasn't been identified, was also recovered from the debris.
A neighbour reported that the woman, her husband and their two daughters lived in the house that exploded.
Police identified a suspect, 53-year-old Darron Price of San Francisco, on the unit block the next day and arrested him in relation to the incident.
Price is being held in San Francisco County Jail on charges of involuntary manslaughter, manufacturing narcotics, and child endangerment.
Police confirmed that Price lived in the home at the time of the explosion but they did not provide further details on his relationship with the other occupants.
The blast that shook the neighbourhood also deemed two adjacent homes uninhabitable, while around a dozen other homes in the area were also affected by the damage.
Albert Ng was conversing with a neighbour in front of his house, approximately 40 to 50 feet from the house that exploded when the incident occurred.
He told CBS News : "All of a sudden, we just heard the explosion -- boom! Then we saw the fire."
A surveillance video captured the impact of the blast, which pushed Ng several feet from where he stood.
Ng added: "Just see glass, wood and the garage door, looks like it was blown open."
The explosion also caused significant damage to the windows and doors. But despite the destruction, Ng was grateful that he and his neighbour were unharmed.
He said: "Lucky, that's all I can say is lucky. Both of us, nothing wrong. We didn't get hit by any glass or wood or anything."
The authorities reported that the explosion claimed the life of a disabled woman living in the house and seriously injured her caregiver.
Ng said of the arrested suspect, Price: "He's friendly, that's all. He just said a few words, 'how's everything? Good morning. How are you doing?'"
The injured caregiver remains in the hospital with burn injuries, although her condition is unknown.
Authorities are still investigating the case.
