The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee is asking a major lettuce supplier to turn over its communications with the White House and federal health agencies in the days surrounding a recall tied to the largest cyclosporiasis outbreak on record.
Rep. Robert Garcia of California sent the letter on July 27 to Taylor Farms Chief Executive Bruce Taylor, seeking the company's communications with federal agencies about cyclospora since the outbreak began, along with any communications with the White House since January 21 and documents on the company's food safety protocols.
