The roof of a house has collapased after a blaze broke out in the early hours.
Fire crews were called to a terraced house on King Edward Close, Rainhill, after reports of a fire. At the scene, at around 2.20am on Thursday, June 1, they found the first floor roof space was in flames.
Five fire engines attended and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the incident from inside. People living in the surrounding homes were evacuated while crews used main jets to also put out the fire from outside the property.

A spokesperson for Merseyside fire and rescue service confirmed all people in the house were accounted for. It is not yet known if any of them were harmed in the fire.
They said: "MFRS was in attendance at an incident on King Edward Close, Rainhall in the early hours of Thursday, 1 June. Crews were alerted at 2.21am and on scene at 2.27am. Five fire engines and the aerial appliance attended.
"On arrival, crews found a two storey mid terraced property with the first floor roof space well alight. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed to fight the fire with high pressure hose reels.
"The incident was sectorised and the properties either side of the property were evacuated. External firefighting took place with two main jets.
"Shortly after 4am, a multi-agency meeting took place between MFRS, Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). All persons were confirmed to be accounted for.
"At 5am, the aerial appliance was used for hotspotting as the incident scaled down. The incident was handed over to Merseyside Police and MFRS crews left the scene at 7.06am."
