Hours of redundancy notice given to employees at collapsed Nottinghamshire construction firm

Employees at a major Nottinghamshire construction firm were given a few hours' notice before being made redundant as the company collapsed. Robert Woodhead Ltd, a business headquartered in Edwinstowe that has been behind projects including the building of the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, publicly announced on Thursday (September 15) that it would be placed into voluntary liquidation.

The company had 155 employees as of June this year, when it was named as one of Nottinghamshire's biggest businesses, but many have now been putting out posts on LinkedIn saying they are looking for work. Emails seen by Nottinghamshire Live now suggest that some employees were given just six hours' notice before they were made redundant.

The messages have been shared by one former employee of the business, but the emails are addressed to "Robert Woodhead Limited Employee", suggesting that they were delivered company-wide. Two emails have been shared, both of which were sent on Wednesday (September 14).
