Liverpool weather: hour by hour forecast as city bakes in record heat
Liverpool is set for another day of extreme weather.
The city saw its hottest ever day on Monday, July 18 as Liverpool Airport 's weather station recorded highs of 36C. The highest temperature recorded was 34.5C on August 2, 1990.
The extreme temperatures have caused travel disruption across the region with Merseyrail updating their travel schedule. Liverpool Lime Street station is warning rail users not to travel on Tuesday.

The Met Office believe temperatures could soar to the same levels again on today (July 18) as an amber weather warning for extreme heat remains in place.

Raoul Moat 'gone too soon' memorial removed by council
A memorial bench plaque to killer Raoul Moat was spotted in Wirral.
A photo was shared to Twitter showing the plaque, the Twitter user said : "spotted this down New Brighton front". The memorial read: "In loving memory of Raoul Moat, 1973 - 2010, Taken too soon, D&A xx."
It is not known who installed the plaque or when it first appeared. However, Wirral council have removed it and confirmed that it was not approved by the local authority.

Fury as new 'car parks' created in popular Liverpool green spaces
People have shared their anger at pictures of cars parked in popular green spaces.
Images taken recently at both Sefton Park and Otterspool Park in south Liverpool show parked vehicles inside the parks, rather than outside on the road. The images were taken and shared by the Friends of Sefton Park group.
A spokesperson for the Friends of Sefton Park said: "Parking on the open grass areas is not only unfair to other park users who want to enjoy the park without seeing cars in the public spaces, but also damaging to the soil."
