With the snow melting and any wet patches clearing up after last week's blizzards, North East families can look forward to the standard winter weather once again.
Wednesday's forecast across Newcastle looks to start bright, staying so for the most part of the morning. However, the clouds will begin to form by lunchtime - leading to a much more miserable, but still dry, evening for the most part.
And the clouds will continue to roll into Thursday too, with thick coverage expected all day - as Christmas fast approaches. Once again though, weather experts predict that the North East will remain dry with no precipitation in sight.
The Met Office forecast for Wednesday says: "Mostly dry and bright in the east, cloudier with showers for western hills. Windy, with a risk of gales for hills and coasts.
"Maximum temperature 7°C."
