The North East has been transformed into a winter wonderland over the space of the last week - with heavy snow laying white blankets across the region for the most part.
And while no further snow is expected to fall this week, the leftover frost and ice is expected to remain in place - with the Met Office keeping its yellow weather warning for snow and ice until Friday (December 16).
Tomorrow's brisk outlook shows temperatures between 1C and -2C, with clouds in the morning gradually dissipating and making way for the low winter sun in the early afternoon. Thursday also holds a similar state of affairs, partially cloudy early on but becoming sunny once more in the afternoon and evening.

The Met Office, say: "Very cold, with any inland freezing fog only slowly clearing. Further wintry showers moving southwards mainly affecting coastal districts and eastern areas.
"Elsewhere turning brighter with brief sunny spells developing. Maximum temperature 1 °C."
