The Christmas weather forecast has officially landed, and anyone hopeful of rising to blankets of snow will be left disappointed, according to experts at the Met Office.
Tomorrow's skies look to be filled to the brim with thick white clouds, minus a few sunnier spells in the morning. However, the good news is that it looks to remain dry across the North East for the most part - minus light showers due at 10pm.
However, as Christmas day rolls in on Sunday it's a completely different state of affairs - with light showers expected to break out across Newcastle at both dinner and teatime respectively. Highs of 9C and lows of 3C are expected to accompany.
The Met Office forecast for Saturday says: "Scattered showers, mainly confined to coasts, clear eastwards by midday. Temperatures becoming closer to average.
"Further showers, heavy at times, push in from the west in the evening. Maximum temperature 8 °C."
