Greater Manchester is set for milder conditions this week, with temperatures expected to reach double digits in most boroughs.
But the rain is also forecast to return by midweek, putting a dampener on the slightly warmer temperatures. It's finally the last day of January, but we're still in the middle of winter with its dark mornings and nights.
Today (Tuesday January 31) the sun rose at 7.57am and it will set this evening at 4.49pm. And if you're tired starting and leaving work in the dark, then hold on tight - there are only 48 more days to go until Spring begins on March 21.

The Met Office said of the conditions in the North West today: "Mostly dry after the band of rain clears to the South during the early morning. Then sunny spells with a few blustery showers, mainly in the far North. Breezy, especially across high ground and around coasts. Feeling cool. Maximum temperature 8C."
Meanwhile tonight is expected to stay windy, particularly on coasts and over high ground. The Met Office added that conditions should be 'mainly dry' but with some showers in the north during the early evening. Minimum temperature 4C.
