The weather is looking wet and wild across the North East this weekend, as the sumptuous summer sunshine we've enjoyed fades away in a brief hiatus.
Saturday's forecast according to the Met Office shows cloud across Newcastle and its surrounding areas - proving particularly grey in the morning.
The sun will begin to creep out towards the evening however, with temperatures between 24C and 18C expected. But it wont last long, with Sunday's forecast looking rather worse for wear once again.
Partially cloudy conditions are expected throughout the day, but thunderstorms are set to sweep the North East by mid-afternoon - with showers also expected in the evening. Highs of 25C and lows of 13C are anticipated by the experts.

The Met Office says: "Early rain clearing Saturday, with drier and brighter skies following. Any sunshine turning hazy through the afternoon, especially in the west.
"Warm and humid with winds easing through the day. Maximum temperature 24°C."
