A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after four men were hit by a car in west London.

Choudry Qamar Azad Razaq is also accused of driving whilst disqualified in relation to the incident, which happened in the early hours of Sunday in Kingsley Road, Hounslow.

Two of the four victims – all male pedestrians in their early 20s – remain in a critical condition, while the other two were treated for injuries that were assessed as not life-threatening, Scotland Yard said.

The 24-year-old suspect, of Westmacott Drive in Feltham, appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with four counts of attempted murder, said the Met.

He was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Sunday evening.

The force said details for the next court hearing had not yet been given.

The Met said two other men have been arrested as part of the investigation.

One man, aged 54, who was arrested for perverting the course of justice, has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Another, aged 36, was arrested for assisting an offender and has been released under investigation.

Police said inquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing, but that it is not being treated as terrorism-related.
