HotHands Rechargeable Hand Warmers Recalled as 77,000 Units Sold at Target and Home Depot Pose Fire Risk

Kobayashi Consumer Products is recalling about 77,000 HotHands Rechargeable Hand Warmers because the lithium-ion battery and electrical parts can overheat and ignite, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. About 72 more units were sold in Canada.

The recall, announced Oct. 1, comes just as many households pull out cold-weather gear. The warmers were sold at Bass Pro Shops, Meijer, Target, The Home Depot, and other stores nationwide, as well as online at Amazon, from July 2025 through August 2026 for $30 to $40.
