Hotel rooms for Ed Sheeran's visit to Manchester later this month have leaped in price since tickets went on sale for the concert.
The superstar's latest tour sparked a big rush for tickets as over 2,000 people joined the queue on Ticketmaster this morning. Many fans were left disappointed after some shows sold out in just 15 minutes.
Fans who did secure a ticket are facing higher hotel prices than usual thanks to some hotel sites introducing a 'demand-based' pricing system.
Cheaper hotel options including the MotelOne in St Peter's Square is listed on Booking.com as £117 for the night of the concert, an increase of over £30 compared to a night's stay a week before. The Hampton by Hilton in Northern Quarter is listed at £134 for the night of the concert and just £80 for the previous week.
It is a similar story across all hotels in Manchester city centre as demand for the AO Arena show is high. However, the cheapest hotel within a mile of the Arena, the Britannia City Hotel, is listed at just £69 for the night of the show. The EasyHotel in the city centre is available for £85 for the Thursday night as another affordable option.
Ed Sheeran tickets went on sale this morning for shows in Manchester, Glasgow and London. The Ticketmaster sale for the three shows saw queues of fans trying to get their hands on tickets.
After performing in the UK Ed Sheeran will go on to perform in Dublin on March 30 and Paris on April 2.
The singer's '-' Subtract Album is set to be released this May 2023 with a huge line-up of new tracks; 'Saltwater', 'Eyes Closed', 'Dusty' and 'Sycamore' are just some of the upcoming releases, and fans on the night will be one of the first to hear it live.
