A man wanted for the savage murder of a female hotel receptionist in Hua Hin early Monday morning was arrested on Tuesday.
Rattikorn Yingyod, 36, was arrested in Soi Hua Hin 42, at about 3.30pm on Tuesday.
His capture followed the discovery of clothing dumped beneath a nearby bridge near the railway line. An examination of surveillance camera recordings in the area eventually led police to him.
Wirin "Nui" Thaolipo, 35, a front-desk receptionist at a hotel in Soi Hua Hin 88/1 was attacked about 3am on Monday.
Security camera footage showed a man aged 30-40 years entering the lobby. The victim was on duty, sleeping behind the counter at the front desk.
The man stayed in the lobby for a while before climbing over the counter and using a metal bar to hit her on the head 14 times. He stole two mobile phones and the victim's black handbag before fleeing.
