A hotel in Wilmslow was evacuated on Wednesday afternoon (April 5) in an emergency services alert.
Police and fire crews attended the scene at the Manchester Airport Hotel, Stanley Road, shortly after 3pm, with officers blocking off the road as a precaution during the incident.
One witness reported seeing a 'huge police presence and cordon in place' at the scene, as another saw 'police and security staff on grass verges outside the car park'.
Cheshire Police announced on social media they had blocked off the A road during the incident between the junctions of Wilmslow Road and the A555 slip road.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary told the M.E.N: "Cheshire Police along with Cheshire Fire and North West Ambulance Service responded to an incident at the hotel which caused the evacuation of the resident for a short period of time.
"Following our initial attendance enquiries proved negative and all residents were allowed back into the hotel and all emergency services resumed."
The Cheshire Fire Service confirmed they sent one hose reel from WIlmslow to the scene shortly before 3.15pm before being stood down at around 5.40pm.
