Hotel employee crashes out and goes on rampage after pulling all-nighter to set up breakfast only to be fired at the end of her shift

The corporate mindset that dominates in the U.S. is oftentimes dehumanizing and outright cruel. One employee crashed out when it all became too much after finishing a long shift only to be told she had been fired. Her rampage was captured on camera but many on TikTok agree with her response.

The incident occurred sometime back in July and footage shows a hotel employee storming past the front desk to the dining area before she starts throwing things on the floor and causing a scene. A version of the footage with commentary from TikToker Savannah Kendall explains that the woman’s boss had her work a long overnight shift before revealing that she had been fired.

The situation has sparked a conversation on TikTok with many criticizing the hotel for failing to treat its staff like actual human beings. While some labeled her reaction as unnecessary and accused her of being in the wrong, most understood that her frustration and anger was borne out of not being treated like a human.

This is what happens when people are treated badly

Most argued that her employers could have easily saved her the trouble of working a long and exhausting nightshift by simply telling her from the start that she had been fired, rather than exploiting her labor and then essentially kicking her to the curb. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that this kind of treatment is going to lead to some bad reactions.

Another TikToker, “nofilterexists,” stated that the woman was right to crash out saying, “treat people like humans and you don’t get scenes like that.”

Not everyone agreed, some said the woman was in the wrong. They pointed out that her rampage inadvertently ruined some of the guest’s mornings as can be seen in the video. Others claimed that she got paid so she has no reason to be so angry. A few raised a good point that she could end up being sued or a future employer could see the video which would make finding a job down the line even harder.

Was the crash out valid?

Of course, whether she got paid or not it’s the fact that her employers took advantage of her by not telling her she’d lost her job before her shift. Most people know what it’s like to be tired after long hours at work, now imagine how it would feel to be told you no longer have a job when you’re already exhausted and just want to go home.

Many agreed that the woman should have been saved the time and effort she put in. “I was trained to fire employees after their shift. I’ve never done it,” wrote one person, “I always fire them at the start of their shift and paid them for the day.” It seems many companies have forgotten that human beings work for them and not robots, it’s important to remember to treat employees with kindness.
