Hospitals Told to Pull Two Lots of ICU Sedative Dexmedetomidine After Cellulose or Stopper Particles Were Found

The nationwide recall covers two lots shipped to wholesalers in 2025. It applies to hospitals and distributors, so patients have nothing to check at home.

Par Health is recalling two lots of dexmedetomidine, an IV sedative used in intensive care units and during procedures, after particulate matter identified as cellulose or stopper material was found in the product. The company announcement posted by the FDA on September 21 is dated September 18.
