Hospitals in Beirut’s southern Dahiyeh suburb are being evacuated following deadly Israeli strikes on the area overnight, as confirmed by Lebanon’s Ministry of Health on Saturday.
The Israeli military conducted strikes on Friday and Saturday that resulted in the destruction of buildings in the south of the Lebanese capital. Tragically, at least six individuals lost their lives, and dozens more sustained injuries, according to the ministry's reports.
The Ministry of Health has issued a directive urging hospitals in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, and other unaffected areas to temporarily halt the admission of non-emergency cases until the conclusion of the following week. This measure aims to create space for accommodating patients from the hospitals in the southern Dahiyeh of Beirut, which are being evacuated due to the recent escalations in the conflict.
In addition to this, the ministry has called upon hospitals and health centers to make necessary preparations for receiving displaced patients from Dahiyeh, ensuring that they can provide the required medical care and support.
