BENGALURU: Champion jockey Suraj Narredu will test international waters during Indian racing's off-season this year. The 38-year-old, who has saddled over 2,000 winners and triumphed at all blue riband races in the country, will be based out of Australia for three months as a freelance jockey.
Suraj, like other top Indian jockeys, has enjoyed short spells in major racing hubs like France, USA, Malaysia, Mauritius and Dubai. His Melbourne assignment, starting in April, will be among the longest.
