A woman out walking in a Meath beauty spot was horrified to discover the dumped mutilated carcasses of two dead pigs.
The walker spotted the carcasses at Emlagh bog near the village of Carlanstown last Friday.
Located in a remote rural area, it has become a haven for the dumping of dead animals. And now a local councillor has hit out at those behind the dumping.

Fianna Fail's Paul McCabe said: "It is despicable what is going on, the lady was in shock when she saw dead pigs lying there and this is the third time in recent months that discarded carcasses have been dumped there.
"Previously it has been sheep and a rather large deer now it is pigs and the Environment department of Meath County Council are investigating the matter, I'd ask anyone with any information to speak to them in confidence this has to be stopped."
One local source claimed, "Emlagh bog is an ideal dumping ground as it is way off the beaten track and there would never be anybody there after dark.
"The area wouldn't be covered by CCTV so whoever is doing this would basically be able to come and go as they please. These days whoever is behind this don't even go to the trouble of burying the carcasses they just throw them there and drive away."
