Horrifying X-ray shows five-inch knife lodged in base of man's neck

This horrifying X-ray images showcases how a man was left with a five-and-a-half inch blade lodged in his throat following a brutal attack.

Thomas Brazell, 28, lunged at the victim with a kitchen knife and stabbed him at the base of his neck.

The handle of the knife snapped off and the blade remained lodged in his body, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
