This is the terrifying moment a gang of machete-wielding thieves tries to carjack a mum while her young son was inside the vehicle.
The trio of hooded yobs tried to smash their way into the Audi Q5 in broad daylight while the nurse was parked with her seven-year-old at 5pm on March 26.
The mum tried to reverse to get away from the men as one produce a machete from his waistband and tried to get into the £35,000 car in the Bromford area of Birmingham.
Glass can be seen shattering as the attempted thieves smash the driver's side front window.
She managed to perform a three-point turn and quickly drive away while the three offenders ran off from the scene.
The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "On Saturday, March 26, these thugs attempted to steal my car with both me and my son inside it.
"It happened in Bromford, Birmingham. These thugs came out of nowhere and used excessive force to try and gain entry to my car.
"Luckily, I managed to drive off, but my car is severely damaged, the trauma that it has left me and my son with is unimaginable.
"CCTV captured this nightmare ordeal...the level of violence used is ridiculous and I dread to think what would have happened to me and my son if they managed to get inside."
The disturbing footage was posted to an Instagram account called Birmz Is Grime and uploaded to social media where it has already been viewed thousands of times.
One web user commented "That is the stuff of nightmares" while another wrote: "Despicable behaviour, just horrific and getting all too common."
Another said: "What a disgusting thing to do. These lowlifes need catching quick. Poor woman and her son must be traumatised."
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote 20/332921/22."
The Mirror Online contacted West Midlands Police for a statement.
