'Horrific consequences': Aussie's fear after race chaos

Australian cyclist Maeve Plouffe has revealed she nearly got hit by a car while riding in this week's Tour of Britain -- and has warned of potentially more "horrific consequences" for a sport already reeling from tragedy.

Plouffe, the 27-year-old former Sydney track star who grabbed Commonwealth team pursuit gold and individual silver in 2022, prompted organisers of the week-long road race to review safety procedures after she outlined her "scary" experience.
