Hope in The Meadows where the suburb is 'changing for the better' with new developments

People in The Meadows hope new developments will change the area for the better. And with several new blocks of flats near Victoria Embankment, residents hope the investment will continue.

Recently 24 one and two-bedroom apartments were built at the Trent Works complex on the corner of Felton Road and Wilford Crescent East, in the old heart of the suburb. The same developer also converted the former Trent Bridge School, which later became the Mundella Centre, into 10 two and three-bedroom apartments.

Low energy homes have also been built Wilford Crescent West and Hobart Close, where earlier this year families shared how the properties had lowered their energy bills. Meanwhile a project to make improvements to the Embankment memorial gardens is also high on the city council's agenda, and a new visitor centre and toilets will be created, with renovations of statues and water features.
