Gujarat: At least 16 dead in Ahmedabad, Botad hooch tragedy

RAJKOT/AHMEDABAD: At least 16 people died and several others hospitalised after consuming spurious liquor in Gujarat’s Botad district and adjoining parts of Ahmedabad district on Monday. Police officials confirmed eight deaths in Botad and eight in Ahmedabad.

The cases started trickling from Rojid village of Botad’s Barwala taluka and soon several people started complaining of illness and other complications.
