The Honkai Star Rail 1.4 update is coming up fast, and developer HoYoverse announced everything we can expect in the free-to-play game’s latest refresh, including new characters and the first 5-star rerun. Version 1.4 takes us back to Jarilo-VI to solve a problem between the people of Belobog and the IPC and introduces a new video game to play in the video game. Silver Wolf would be pleased.
Elsewhere, you can look forward to two new areas, including a weapons testing ground that seems to be the home of a new event.
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 release date
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 launches on Oct. 11, 2023, the same day it releases on PS5. It’ll launch with full cross-save and cross-play support between PS5, PC, and mobile devices.
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 banners - First half
The first set of banners features the new 5-star character Jingliu, an Ice character who follows the path of Destruction. Jingliu used to be Jing Yuan’s mentor and rival before she abandoned the Luofo. Why she came back is a mystery the 1.4 update will dive into.
Current leaks suggest Tingyuan, Sampo, and Qingque will accompany Jingliu as the banner’s 4-star characters.
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 banners - Second half
The second round of banners goes live sometime around the start of November 2023. This time, Topaz and her pet Trotter Numby take center stage. Topaz is a 5-star Fire character who follows the Hunt path and works with the IPC’s commerce division.
The new 4-star character Guinaifen accompanies Topaz. Guinaifen is another Fire character, but she follows the Nihility path.
Leaks point to Luka and Sushang as the other two 4-star characters.
HoYoverse said the first Seele rerun will happen sometime during the update, but didn’t say which banner she’ll appear on.
Honkai Star Rail 1.4 events
The new update has quite a couple of events in store. One of them is the introduction of Aetherium Wars, the most popular online game in the Star Rail universe. You can play it for the first time in 1.4 and take part in an offline competition on Jarilo-VI to get trace and relic materials. You’ll have to raise and train Aether Spirits to take part, and the event itself is a combat simulator with several modifiers to customize the foes you face.
The second big event is Planar Infinity, another Simulated Universe affair. The description was a little vague, but it looks like blessings and curios will show up in abundance.
