Honest Burgers is giving free food to people who 'tell the truth'

A Liverpool restaurant is offering free food on Thursday (October 27), to anyone who tells them the truth.

Honest Burgers first opened its doors on Liverpool's Bold Street in 2019, and has since welcomed thousands of hungry diners through its doors. Now, in partnership with Uber Eats, the restaurant is giving away free burgers from a pop-up near Lime Street station.

The "Tasty Truths" booth will be at the Plaza near Lime Street today, open to members of the public and offering them a space to confess their fibs.

Anyone who does so will receive a free burger. It comes after a poll commissioned by both Honest Burgers and Uber Eats found people in the UK tell 34 lies each week on average.

A poll of 2,000 adults found of those who admit to lying, 42% consider themselves to be convincing fibbers. Although a further 43% admit they struggle to tell believable mistruths.

The biggest reasons for lying include not wanting to offend others by revealing what they really think, to keep people onside and to avoid a telling off or a row.

To get your hands on a free burger, head to the Tasty Truths booth from 1pm today (Thursday) and make a confession. People can also get a code to get money off their next Honest Burger order on Uber Eats.
