The LPGA Tour season is back underway following a couple of weeks off and a bumpy start to proceedings.
First was the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions in Florida, which was won by Nelly Korda after the event was controversially cut short through three rounds.
However, she didn't make the trip to the Far East for the Honda LPGA Thailand, marking the 19th LPGA Tour event based in Asia that she's missed.
Despite her absence, there was still a strong field at the Siam Country Club tournament, and none more so than the player who replaced Korda at the top of the world rankings in August, Jeeno Thitikul.
The Thai player led going into the final round and went on to secure her eighth LPGA Tour title at the event, beating Chizzy Iwai by one.
Thitikul's most recent LPGA Tour title before that had come at the 2025 season-closer, the CME Group Tour Championship, where she won a whopping $4m, but she didn't bank anything close to that figure in her homeland.
Instead, she earned a total of $270,000 from the overall purse of $1.8m, the lowest on the LPGA Tour this season, despite the figure being $100,000 more than last season.
While Thitikul delighted home fans with another victory, Iwai missed out on her second LPGA Tour title, although she still claimed a six-figure sum for her runner-up placing, banking $166,000.

Ending without company in third place was the only other way to pick up a six-figure check at the Honda LPGA Thailand, and Hyo Joo Kim achieved it to earn $120,888.
Away from financial rewards, Thitikul scooped important 500 Race To CME Globe points and a healthy batch of Rolex Women's World Golf Ranking points, cementing her position at the top of the rankings.
