ACT Policing's homicide squad is now seeking information from the public to help solve the woman's murder.

Firefighters responded to a unit fire at Wallcliffe Flats on Osborne Place in Belconnen at about 6.40am on Monday, May 18. After extinguishing the flames, they discovered the woman's body.

Police later identified the deceased as Kylee McHugh, a resident of the unit.

"The circumstances surrounding her death and the fire are suspicious and are being treated as a homicide," Detective acting Inspector Chris Watson of the ACT Policing homicide squad said on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators have appealed for public information, especially regarding Ms McHugh's final days.

"We want to speak to anyone who spoke to Kylee in the three days before her death on May 18. We are also looking for dashcam and CCTV footage captured between 9pm on May 17 and 7am on May 18in the area bounded by College Street, Haydon Drive, Belconnen Way and Eastern Valley Way," Detective Watson said.
