Homes across 11 different postcodes have been hit by a power cut this morning.
Addresses across St Helens and Haydock have been left without power after a maintenance issue. Scottish Power said it had "no advanced warning" of the cut, and that engineers are currently dealing with the outage.
The power firm expect power to be restored by 10.45am on August 2, however some homes still have no electricity. One resident took to Facebook, they said: "I have been without power all morning, does anyone know the reason why?"

A statement from Scottish Power said: "There is a power cut affecting the WA11 postcode area of St Helens. We had no advance warning of this and first became aware of it at 7.32am. Our engineers have arrived on site and will work to restore your electricity supply as quickly and as safely as possible.
"We expect the power to be restored by 10.45 The latest updates can be found on our website www.spenergynetworks.co.uk. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
At the time of publication a number of properties were still without electricity.
