Homeowners face higher mortgage rates as Donald Trump's Iran war hits FTSE 100

Homeowners in London and beyond are being hit with higher mortgage bills as lenders start to increase rates as the Iran war knocks the UK economy.

Nationwide, HSBC and Coventry Building Society are among lenders nudging up mortgage rates as hopes of more Bank of England interest rate cuts were dampened by the conflict.
