According to Greens, Mayorkas is allegedly allowing individuals who have made a claim for relief to stay in the country, even though it is against the law. Greens cites the Immigration and Naturalization Act, which states that individuals can only be released from custody in exceptional circumstances, such as for emergency medical surgeries for family members. He goes on to mention that multiple court rulings have demanded Mayorkas adhere to the law.
