Home Depot (HD) -) co-founder Bernie Marcus is proving his loyalty to former President Donald Trump and has managed to infuriate consumers while doing so.
The former CEO of the home improvement retail chain now has a boycott on his hands after Reuters asked Marcus in a new interview if he would still support Trump's 2024 presidential bid if he was convicted of a crime. He responded by saying "I think so. Because I think it's all trumped up." Marcus also said that he will “support him to some extent” but he is “not one of his big givers.”

After consumers caught wind of the billionaire's comments in the new interview, outrage erupted online, and a call for boycott of the home improvement chain was initiated. The hashtag #BoycottHomeDepot began to trend on X with some users vowing to never shop at the store again.

Ever since Trump has officially left office in 2021, the former president has faced a slew of indictments.
One case accuses Trump of trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election outcome by allegedly inciting the Jan 6. Insurrection on the Capitol.
Another indictment accuses Trump of illegally possessing 31 classified documents that contain national defense information, which he allegedly obtained after leaving office.
Trump also faces an indictment that accuses him of falsifying business records in connection to allegedly paying hush money to an adult film actress after a sexual encounter.
