Home Bargains has invested £6m in its new store in Blairgowrie, which is set to open this Saturday.
One of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, the brand is creating 52 new jobs in the local community.
The store will employ 55 team members, with three existing managers transferring from another local store.
The new shop will join more than 575 outlets across the UK, employing over 28,500 staff. The company intends to continue its average of around 50 new openings a year, with plans to grow to 800 stores and 35,000 staff.
Michael Welsh, the new store manager, has been with Home Bargains for nearly one year as a deputy manager of the Kingsway East store, having previously spent 12 years working as a manager for McDonald’s.
“We are thrilled to be opening a new Home Bargains store in Blairgowrie, we know it will be a fantastic addition to this town, and I am very much looking forward to the opportunity,” he commented.
The 20,893 sq ft store will offer products including homewares, health and beauty, sweets, snacks and drinks, fresh and frozen food and an in-store bakery.
