The clue is in the name - high street favourite Home Bargains is great for, well, picking up bargains. But the budget retailer has really taken that to another level by stocking £60 bottles of shower gel for just 99p, leaving shoppers well and truly stunned.
Kiwi Botanicals Nourishing Shower Gel for Women with Manuka Honey retails for £60 - but they can currently be picked up in Home Bargains for less than the price of a cup of coffee. And no, it's not a clever dupe, it really is a genuine product by the New Zealand beauty brand. For 99p.
Shoppers who just couldn't believe what they were seeing quickly logged onto Facebook to share the news of their amazing find. But it wasn't just one Kiwi Botanicals product on sale in Home Bargains. One shopper even spotted the brand's Purifying Honey Melt Facial Cleanser and Soothing Body Lotion - again, for less than a pound.
One person wrote on hotukdeals.com: "Picked up two Kiwi Botanicals items at Home Bargains LP (Penrith) - Purifying Honey Melt and Soothing Body Lotion, both 99p. Never used them before but a quick Google shows prices between £13 and (an eyewatering!) £31!
"No link as not on the website, so move fast, suspect it won't be around long."
According to Manchester Evening News, Stacey Betts spotted the high-end shower gel in her local Home Bargains, and couldn't resist getting herself a haul. She shared the news on Extreme Couponing and Bargains.
Stacey wrote: "For pennies compared to the online price of £60 per bottle of shower gel, I took a look this morning and got this little lot. Not sure how much the body conditioner should be but that as well as the shower gel is only 99p in Home Bargains. Will look in a different store tomorrow to see if they have any other items from the collection."
Many shoppers were keen to try out the bath bits themselves, and praised Home Bargains for selling it at such a low price. Dawn Anderson said: "A bargain ! Tried last night skin feels really soft today."
Jen Littlejohn said: "I couldn’t get the body butter but got the face cleanser, shower gel and body conditioner."
Others were horrified at the thought of splashing out £60 on a bottle of shower gel. Claire Nicol said: "Who would buy a bottle of shower gel for £60? Even Molton Brown doesn’t cost that."
Julie Finlay said: "Those original prices are mad! just proves to me how much profit these big companies are making and what fools we are to cough up the full amount!"
