Home Bargains has announced that it will be opening in-store bakeries to more than 64 of its UK stores as it rolls out its freshly baked goods at sites across the country. The budget high street retailer has already successfully introduced bakeries in stores nationwide in locations including Darlington, Basingstoke and Merthyr, and now will add another 20 bakeries at stores across the UK over the next 12 months.
Shoppers here in Greater Manchester will be pleased to know that bakeries will be opening at Home Bargain sites in Oldham, Walkden and Bolton in the coming months. While the retailer has not confirmed which of the three Oldham sites will have a bakery, a job advert for the Market Place store asked for store members for a cafe and bakery. Meanwhile, the Home Bargains in Walkden is in the Salford town's retail park, and the Bolton site is at Middlebrook Retail & Leisure in Horwich.
A spokesperson for Home Bargains said: “In recent years the market for fresh baked good in the UK has grown significantly and the bakeries we have introduced at stores nationwide have allowed customers to enjoy our competitively priced fresh bakery range. We are looking forward to introducing more bakeries in stores as we roll out our fresh bakery range for customers across the UK to enjoy.”

Visitors to the in-store bakeries will be able to bag a selection of baked goods, from baguettes and tiger rolls, to pastries, muffins and doughnuts. The retailer has said there will be a focus on a small product range to offer the best quality of value.
All bakeries operate on the same opening hours as the stores they are located in and baked goods available will include a pack of five sausage rolls for £1.09, baguettes for 75p, a pack of four scotch rolls for 85p, and cheese twists for 59p.
Other cost-busting goods include cinnamon whirls for 55p, two vanilla crowns for 79p, ten mini jam, sugar or chocolate doughnuts for £1, and a four pack of iced, sugared or chocolate ring donuts for just 99p.
Originally founded in 1976 in Liverpool, Home Bargains now has over 500 stores and is known across the UK for its cut-price range of groceries, toys, homeware, gardening, beauty products and more.
