Joe Pesci says he suffered "serious burns" while shooting Home Alone.
The Hollywood star, 79, admitted getting "bumps, bruises and general pain" during production of the original films with Kevin McCallister in the 1990s.
He starred in the iconic movies as bumbling burglar Harry, alongside Daniel Stern, 65, who played his less-than intelligent slapstick sidekick, Marv.
Joe had roles in 1983's Easy Money and 1989's Lethal Weapon 2 before finding fame in the first two original Home Alone films, including Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
It was the second movie that Joe "absolutely" knew would be a successful sequel.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Joe detailed some of the injuries he sustained after the release of the second movie in December 1992.
He admitted suffering "bumps, bruises, and general pains that you would associate with that particular type of physical humour".
"I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry's hat is set on fire," Joe explained after revealing he did some of the stunt work himself.
"I was fortunate enough to have professional stuntmen do the real heavy stunts," he told People.
Speaking of working with young child star Macaulay back in the day, Joe told the outlet that he remembers him as a "really sweet kid".
"I intentionally limited my interactions with him to preserve the dynamic between his character, Kevin, and my character Harry," he explained.
Joe wanted to ensure his on-screen dynamic with Macaulay, who played the leading role as young Kevin McCallister, did not come across as "friendly".
He detailed wanting to "maintain the integrity of the adversarial relationship" in between shooting scenes for the iconic Christmas movies.
Having only appeared in the first two Home Alone films, with the following four sequels after 1992 including new cast and storylines, Joe didn't rule out a comeback.
Although he did admit it would be "difficult to replicate" the iconic US comedies.
"While you never say never, I think that it would be difficult to replicate not only the success but also the overall innocence of the originals," he told the publication.
Explaining that it is a "different time now" with changed "attitudes and priorities".
Disney+ are now streaming the second film, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, as part of their "Happy Holidays" collection for Christmas.
