Hollywood star Alexander Skarsgård has branded Irn Bru a “winner” after sampling Scotland’s national drink for the first time.
The Swedish star appeared in a taste test alongside The Northman co-star Anya Taylor-Joy as the pair put the ginger nectar up against the Scandinavian Rabarbersaft cordial.
Taylor-Joy, who admitted she had a pair of Irn Bru earrings, revealed she had Scottish ancestry and was backing the nation’s most popular beverage to come out on top.

Skarsgård said he had never tried the drink before, but was instantly won over by the orange marvel, exclaiming his delight at the taste.
The pair sat down with LadBible ahead of the release of the viking epic - which follows Skarsgård as Prince Amleth on his quest to avenge the death of his father.
However, after his initial reticence at sampling the drink, and thinking the label said “ibuprofen,” he soon found the beverage to be to his liking.
“Scotland, woo, I think that’s a winner,” Skarsgård said.
“I have to smell it, it’s like a fine bouquet of red wine.
“Point to Scotland, I think you guys won.”
Taylor-Joy, who starred in Netflix hit Queen’s Gambit, added: “It’s intrinsically Scottish.
“This is the drink of Scotland.”
The pair are the latest to join the great taste debate over Irn Bru, with the likes of US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds previously voicing their opinions on the national drink.
