Hollywood heartthrob Josh Hartnett has opened up about his Irish roots.
The Pearl Harbour star revealed his mother’s surname is Horan – but didn’t mention if he was related to Mullingar and former One Direction star Niall Horan.
Opening up about his Irish ancestry, Josh said: “The name Hartnett is Irish, from the Dingle peninsula area, I think.
“I went there with my parents back around 1999; we toured around a little.
“My mother’s family is Horan, also from down around the south-west. So there’s a lot of Irish blood,” he told the RTE Guide.
Hartnett was speaking ahead of his new thriller The Fear Index which will be available to watch on Sky Atlantic from Thursday 10 February.
The series, which adapts Robert Harris’ book of the same name, is four episodes long.
The Fear Index follows a technological genius who creates an AI algorithm that exploits fear in financial stock markets.
Dr Alex Hoffman (Josh Hartnett) intends to use his algorithm to make a lot of money – but he’s soon viciously attacked by a mysterious man who knows more about his life than he possibly could. Soon, Dr Hoffman begins to realise exactly how dangerous his AI really is.
