Robert Downey Jr looked totally unrecognisable after undergoing another dramatic transformation – unveiling his new receding red hair for a new TV role.
The Iron Man actor, 57, could be easily confused with another person after getting into character on the set of new HBO series The Sympathizer.
Fans had only just come to terms with Robert's most recent appearance shake-up, shaving his head back in November last year – but now it all makes sense.
It would appear the Hollywood legend was preparing to slip on his curly red wig for his new job where he'll be "literally playing five different roles".
New pictures show Robert shooting the series, almost looking like Prince Harry's twin as he stepped out with his bold new hair colour.
Robert wore a bright pink buttoned-down shirt under a maroon jacket as he followed orders on the TV series set as filming began in Los Angeles.
Reports from last year say the Marvel movie star will be portraying the programme's main antagonists, who all represent 'the American establishment'.
His several roles will reportedly include 'an up-and-coming Orange County congressman, a CIA agent and a Hollywood film director'.
It comes after Robert truly shocked followers when he unveiled his bald head for the first time in November earlier last year.
He gave the look its red carpet debut alongside his wife Susan at the 13th Governors Awards held at the Grand Ballroom of the Hollywood and Highland Center.
People were quick to comment on Twitter when they realised the Holmes actor's new appearance.
One fan wrote: "Just saw a very bald Robert Downey Jr and I’m never recovering from it.
A second said: "Opening this app & seeing Robert Downey Jr bald has shocked me," followed by a surprised face with exploding head emoji.
A third person replied: "I honestly see it and think it could be great. RDJ would make a GREAT villain."
It was in October that Robert debuted his appearance with a video on Instagram, which saw his children Exton, 10, and Avri, eight, do the honour of shaving their father's head.
In the now-viral post's caption, Robert explained: "The things we do for our work… and our kids. Sympathizer set ready."
