Her soap character triggered tears as she left Hollyoaks village after almost a year on the Channel Four show, but actress Anya Lawrence was beaming as she stepped out in Bolton for her first public appearance since her exit. Anya played Vicky Grant, the foster daughter of Hollyoaks favourite Scott Drinkwell, since May last year.
Troubled teen Vicky went through a turbulent time in the village. However, after forming a close bond with her father figure Scott, there were tears when Vicky's mum announced she was ready for her daughter to move back in with her, and Vicky revealed she would be leaving for Margate to be with her.
In nightmarish scenes at her drug-fuelled leaving party she fell down while drinking at a campfire with her friends. After being taken to hospital, it was found that her drink contained drugs and Charlie Dean and Leah Barnes were behind it.

The pair eventually confessed and Vicky. decided to take the blame, but Vicky's mother Caitlin told her she couldn't move in. Instead she suggested that Vicky move to another foster home nearby, and Vicky agreed. After settling into her new home Vicky video-called Scott, and there was an emotional scene as the pair promised to keep in touch.
Scott was taken aback when Vicky told him: "I wish you really were my dad." Fans flocked to social media to say they would miss Vicky would like to see her back in Chester one day,
@keeleymicallef1 shared a stream of broken heart emojis and said: "Will miss u." And Julie Gray wrote: "I do hope Vicky will be back." Others complained about the loss of another Hollyoaks character.
Last month Serena Chen-Williams, played by Emma Lau, also left to start a new life. @FTWCK04 wrote: "I don’t like how many of my favourites are leaving rn…"
@Francis20619989 complained: "Be no body left in Hollyoaks at this rate I wish I run the Taxi in the Village I'd make a fortune." And @Huedenne tweeted: "She was amazing! Hope she returns one day - lots of potential that never got a chance to be realised."
Anya looked glam in green at the Glitz and Glam Lunch for Fortalice Bolton. Fortalice is a domestic abuse charity providing frontline services including refugee accommodation.
In Hollyoaks Anya's character was controlled and manipulated by her bullying ex boyfriend Joseph Holmes. He wheedled his way back into her life shortly after her arrival.
The lunch was held at Bolton Stadium Hotel in memory of former mayoress of Bolton Gay Wharton. The Fortalice patron died after she was struck by a car on Chorley New Road, Bolton in November 2020. The event, organised by her friend Lisa Forshaw PR, Sushma Snacks and The Best of Bolton, raised £11,000 in memory of Mrs Wharton.
