Holly Willoughby returns to usual social media posting with supportive statement

Holly Willoughby took to her Instagram Stories this evening [September 24] to show her support for Kaye Adams.

Following the Loose Women star's first live performance on the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, Holly decided to share a message of support with her followers on Instagram - praising her ITV colleague and seemingly returning to her usual social media activity in the process.

Sharing a snap of Kaye dancing in a red dress with her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington, This Morning presenter Holly captioned the screenshot: "G'wan @kayeadamsofficial ... This emoji was made for you [dancing lady emoji]."

Holly's latest Instagram update comes just h ours after she broke her social media silence to congratulate pal Lisa Snowdon on winning Celebrity MasterChef on Friday, as she and her This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield continue to be trolled over the false accusations they skipped the lengthy queue to see the Queen lying in state last week.

The duo have faced a public petition calling for them to be sacked as presenters of This Morning and have been trolled mercilessly since the footage showed them being taken through to Westminster Hall to film a segment for the ITV show, as thousands waited for hours in the queue outside.

Despite This Morning quickly issuing a statement clarifying that the two stars 'did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the Queen lying in state' and were there purely for work reasons, that hasn't stopped many on social media to continue to joke about about the situation.

On Tuesday's This Morning, Holly looked to clarify what happened in a VT, as the now-infamous footage was aired for ITV viewers.

She said: "Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists we were given official permission to access the hall.

"It was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK who haven’t been able to visit Westminster in person.

"The rules were that we would be quickly escorted around the edges to a platform at the back. In contrast those paying respects walked along a carpeted area beside the coffin and were given time to pause.

"None of the broadcasters and journalists took anyone's places in the queue and no one filed past the Queen.

"We of course respected those rules however we realised that it may have looked like something else and therefore we totally understand the reaction.

"Please know that we would never jump a queue."

It was reported earlier this week that a devastated Holly had consulted lawyers over the false accusations, but has opted not to pursue any legal action.

Over recent days, the presenter has seen a wave of support online - with many sharing a snap of the mum-of-three alongside the late Caroline Flack and reminded social media users to 'Be Kind' with their comments on the internet.
