Phillip Schofield has lifted the lid on the current status of his relationship with Holly Willoughby.
The 61-year-old broadcaster sat down with the BBC's Amol Rajan for a tell all interview after his ITV exit. Mr Schofield quit last week after he admitted having an affair with a younger male colleague.
Mr Schofield presented This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby, who admitted she was hurt to find out she had been lied to by her co-host. Mr Schofield revealed he reached out to his co-host before he issued his statement.

He said: "I WhatsApped her on the day I put the statement up and I said to her 'I know you can't reply, you're probably not allowed to'.
"But please know that I am so desperately, desperately sorry." Mr Schofield revealed he did not receive a reply from his co-host, who he branded as his TV sister.
Mr Schofield stepped aside from This Morning amid reports an alleged feud with Holly reached fever pitch. However, he claimed he has no problem with the mum-of-three as he once again issued an apology.
He said: "I would say to everyone, to my family, my friends, my work colleagues, the public, to ITV, my management company, to everyone that I lied to, that I am desperately sorry."
However, Mr Schofield said he would principally like to apologise to the younger male colleague he had an affair with. He added: "I would like to apologise to him because it may have been consensual and fully legal, but I shouldn't have allowed that to happen.
"I know that, because of that, an absolutely innocent person has been persecuted."
