In a rare occasion, ITV’s This Morning kicked off its Wednesday, March 8 episode with hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby separated. While Holly celebrated International Women’s Day with the show’s female production team in the studio, Phillip surprised a young woman, Chloe, at a nearby cafe.
“Did you know that you were right across the way from the This Morning studios?” Phillip told Chloe as he made his entrance. The presenter then added: “We are just across the way there and Holly is waiting and the team is waiting and we’ve got a few surprises for you and we want to talk about your incredible story and how amazing you are.
“Would that be okay? Would you come with us?” He asked, and with that, Chloe agreed to go with him to the studio. The young woman was at the cafe with her mum and assistant dog Ocho, who joined her in going to the This Morning studio for an interview.

Chatting to Phillip and Holly on the sofa, Chloe revealed that at the age of 15, she was diagnosed with Behcet’s disease. In recent years, she has also struggled with fibromyalgia.
Chloe then talked about how she studied nursing at university and soon after, began working at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. As her condition worsened and she was forced to use a wheelchair, she was unable to continue work at the hospital.
Refusing to give up, Chloe found a way to continue working as a nurse despite her mobility issues. Beginning as an activities manager, she quickly rose through the ranks to become an onsite nurse caring for elderly dementia patients in a local nursing home.
At the end of the interview, Phillip and Holly surprised Chloe by revealing that they would sponsor her support dog Ocho for a year. They also gifted her with a spa experience.
“Bless her heart,” wrote one viewer following the heartwarming interview. A second echoed: “How inspiring is Chloe! Thank you for making her smile!” A third added: “Chloe just made me weep happy tears, for her to get to her nursing dream is truly lovely.” And a fourth shared: “Wow! For once #ThisMorning do something worthwhile. Well done for sponsoring Chloe’s assistance dog.”
