Holly Willoughby 'hits back' at Eamonn Holmes' claim in live This Morning moment

Holly Willoughby appeared to hit back at a claim made by Eamonn Holmes during This Morning's latest live broadcast. She has been back fronting the programme this week alongside Dermot O'Leary.

Last week, Dermot, 50, joined Holly as her latest co-host following Phillip Schofield's shock exit for a two-week stint after being previously drafted in to cover for Holly alongside Alison last month after it was revealed that Schofield had quit the popular daytime show after more than 20 years amid rumours of a 'feud' with his former co-host.

However, he later stepped back from ITV altogether after admitting to lying to Holly and his employers about a relationship with a much younger ITV colleague. Following her two-week break amid the fallout, Holly, 42, addressed the scandal head on in a statement read out live on air as she was supported by fellow This Morning star Josie Gibson before also hosting alongside Craig Doyle.

Holly has since been pressing on with her role on the show as normal, however, she did appear to address a claim made by her former co-star Eamonn who has unleashed various rants and done a sit down interview since the Schofield scandal was revealed.

During one, the GB News host said: "Holly doesn’t know people’s names, either. This is legendary within the production teams, that how distant they are and how they just don’t care."

But Holly appeared to prove him wrong during Tuesday's edition of This Morning (June 20) when she went out of her way to namedrop a cameraman on set. The comment came after the member of the crew was almost whacked in the face by a prosecco cork by chef Gino D'Acampo who returned to the programme for the first time in weeks.

After showing viewers how to make his orange and pistachio tiramisu, he later returned with some Italian cocktails. As he popped open the bottle of fizz for one of his drinks, Holly exclaimed: "Oh my god you almost got Steve in the eye! Jeez, Louise. He needs those eyes, he's on camera four."

Ginothen joked: "Camera four is down." Holly's co-host Dermot then added: "We value Steve. Steve is like the poster boy for cameramen. No one injure Steve, for god's sake."

It came after the Family Fortune host left co-hosts Holly, 42, and Dermot, 50, flustered when he asked whether he had missed "any news" over the past month during his time away. Introducing the celebrity chef, Dermot said: "It's been a while but Gino is finally allowed back in the This Morning kitchen."

Gino replied: "I was in Italy for a month and I can't wait to cook for all of you." He continued: "Everything is under control, I'm back. Any news? Anything in the last month that I should know of?" seemingly referring to the fact that This Morning has been hitting the headlines following Phillip Schofield's exit from the show and from ITV.

Dermot sat with a pen in his mouth looking slightly uncomfortable while Holly laughed while sat beside him on the famous sofa. "No news," Holly said smiling, as Gino replied: "No news, OK, good. so we can go straight into the cooking..."
